PMI’s volunteer Board is guided by the following documents and policies.
Board Constitution and Governance
- Articles of Incorporation – have been duly filed with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and constitute the chartering document of the Institute.
- Bylaws – are the rules adopted by the membership for managing the internal affairs of the organization.
- Rules of the Board – are developed to further define and articulate specific activities of the Board.
Guidance on Decisions, Programs, and Activities
- Strategic Plan – developed and maintained by the Board, facilitates PMI’s identification of the future needs of stakeholders and the institute’s options for satisfying those needs.
- Institute Policies – are established and adopted to provide direction, guidelines, and limitations for identified activities which affect the Institute at large.
- Charters – consistent with the PMI Bylaws, the Board of Directors may establish and maintain other bodies to serve the Institute. Authority and responsibility is granted to these bodies through a formal charter.
